San Fernando Mugen Taiko was founded by Etsuo Hongo in 1988. After establishing LA Matsuri Taiko, Hongo Sensei wanted to continue sharing his knowledge of taiko with the younger generations. SFV Mugen Taiko performed throughout the United States including locations such as Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Miami, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; and various places throughout California and Los Angeles. The group participated in Grandmaster Seiichi Tanaka's International Taiko Festivals which are held annually in Northern California. Hongo Sensei's goal for SFV Mugen Taiko was to continue to progress toward fulfilling his "endless dream" of sharing taiko.
